So no one can miss the fact its been a challenging start to the year, however compliance still rolls on. The next big one is EICR`s. Mandatory for NEW tenancies from July 2020, from April 2021 ALL rental properties will need one. The Government is still planning to plough ahead with this so best to arrange yours now.

What is an EICR report? Electrical Installation condition reports (EICR) are provided as an official document given after an assessment by a qualified engineer or electrician. The assessment is based on the quality of your electrical installation, the electrics and cables will deteriorate over time.

When do landlords need to conduct an EICR?

Landlords with properties in England will need to conduct an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) in order to let their English properties from 1st July 2020. The requirement will extend to all tenancies in England from 1st April 2021. The First EICR Deadline: 1st July 2020
